Easter Sunday

We had a wonderful day on Easter Sunday. We went to Kevin's for a delicious dinner, he had quite the feast ready for us. How lucky are we? Jacob hadn't taken his afternoon nap so he started getting fussy when we had just started eating...He still doesn't eat 'people' food so I thought his toys would keep him occupied...no such luck! I somehow (out of desperation I think) ended up giving him a pickle...and he loved it! He was the happiest little boy! I couldn't believe it, because most kids aren't supposed to like sour food at first. Right? He ended up biting part of it, but he mostly just used it as a chewing toy!

He got a nice spider man hat from his grandpa and he let us leave it on him for a total of 1.2 seconds! It still doesn't quite fit him though, but it's super cute :)

Tales of an old lady...

What an appropriate title to this post! I feel like an old lady now that I'm 28! lol I had a wonderful birthday. We went to Logan for 3 days and we had so much fun. Thanks to Stephanie for posting about their trip to Logan...we got the same deal! We went to Hamilton's stake house too...it was delicious. We were able to take Jacob to the zoo for the first time it Logan. We have decided the Logan zoo is the perfect size. It's not too big that it takes the whole day to go through it, and it's not too small that the kids get bored...it was perfect! Jacob fell asleep for most of it...but we were able to get a couple of pictures of him before he fell asleep. After the zoo we took him to a near by park, it was his first time actually playing at the park so it was fun. Randy took him down the slide with him and I was fully expecting Jacob to be scared but he didn't even react to it at all! It was fun to see Randy pushing him on the swings, Jacob is becoming such a little toddler...and no longer a baby :( I don't know why that makes me sad but it does. I guess it's kinda sad when he doesn't depend on me for EVERYTHING...but it's a good thing, he needs to be independent.

Anyways, we took Jacob swimming for the first time on our trip to Logan too...he wasn't sure at first, but after a few minutes he was happy splashing around!

It was nice to get away and be somewhere else...even if it wasn't very far away. I like Logan, I love that it's still a small town but you have everything you need right there, and nothing is too far of a drive.

I was also able to go to the temple on my birthday! I told Randy we should start doing that from now on, go to the temple on our birthdays...it was so nice, and I had never gone to the Logan temple so it was a first for me.

If anybody who reads this can tell me...what is the secret to having your baby sleep through the night when they're not in their regular crib?? Jacob, and all of us actually had a rough couple of nights because he didn't want to sleep in his pack n' play. The second night was better than the first but the longest he slept in a row was 3 hours...I guess that's still better than when he was younger and would be up every 1/2 to 1 hour...so if you have any insights leave us your comments...we would love to know!

More than a month later...

This month started out great...we all got together at Kevin's for dinner the first Sunday of the month. It was good to see everyone and to see how the boys interact with each other...Jacob is always trying to take something from them, or pull their hair etc, etc...

He is almost 9 months! I can't believe it! He is so funny lately. He has developed a love for music and dancing...he dances (rocks back and forth while sitting or standing) every time Randy whistles. It all started with his cloth book (the one in the picture), he kept pushing the button and would start to dance every time the music would come on. He's hilarious! No matter what he's doing, as soon as he hears dad whistling he will dance! He also loves to be standing up. Yesterday he stood in the pack and play for about 15 minutes straight. He is getting more and more independent too. I'm afraid we're going to have to start baby-proofing our home asap.

I forgot to mention he started giving 'kisses'. It's so adorable! We just had to show everyone when we all got together at Kevin's.

For a while Jacob stopped saying "da,da" I was a little concerned but now he's back to saying it again. He also makes up his own words and is very verbal when he's happy...when he's not happy he just yells at me! Last week he was really into making 'clicking sounds' with his mouth and tongue, he was having such a blast!

He still loves to just roll around no matter where he is! He was a little anxious last night so Randy just put him down on the floor in the office and he was happy to just roll around! He has no fear! If he is seeing something he wants, he will throw himself at it...we discovered that because he really likes Nala's red, plastic ball. He tried to launch himself off my lap one night, trying to get to the Ball. I can just see the fun times we have ahead of us!
